PAST REVISIONS

It is important to us that we listen to the community and adapt our guidelines to our ever-changing industry. We will revisit the guidelines at least once a year and revise them if necessary to ensure that they accurately serve our community. Moving forward, for the sake of transparency, we will host all new revisions of the Guidelines along with revision notes here.

Revision 07.24.19 (current)
Revision Notes:
Section 1 - Clarified that this is just a suggestion, with the end goal being "to limit the number of directors committing time to writing full treatments without compensation.”
Section 1 - Added a NOTE emphasizing that these are merely suggested guidelines to limit the number directors submitting completed treatments to a maximum of 5. We acknowledge that there will be other methods to get the same results, and as long as we stay below the limit of 5 treatments, the spirit of the guidelines are upheld.
Section 1A - Added the suggestion that “Artist representatives should do their due diligence to ensure that the budget range realistically reflects the creative brief so as to manage expectations.”
Section 1B - Added the suggestion that directors’ Concept Document can contain images for directors who are more visually motivated.
